Mrs. Joy Marie Anand has been an early childhood educator since 1982, having worked
in both kindergarten and childcare settings. As an early childhood educator she
has been actively involved in sharing her knowledge and skills with pre-service
and in-service teachers, families and communities as these supportive and insightful
partnerships will continue to be a cornerstone of effective day-to-day quality and
professional practice.
Selected works include:
- 2003 - Involved in coordinating the first preschool seminar ever to be organized
by SKM and NTUC Childcare. The seminar entitled "The Winning Combination: Loving
Parents, Caring Children" focused on involving parents in spreading the message
of kindness to their children as parents are ideal role models for their children
whose actions will reinforce the values of kindness in the home.
- 2006 - Workshop speaker: "Disciplining Young Children with Love and Kindnes"
at the seminar, Character for Kinds and Kids for Character organized by RTRC Asia,
NTUC Childcare and SKM.
- 2006 - Workshop speaker: "Engaging Children with Acts of Kindness" at
the Childcare Seminar organized by MCYS and AECES.
She believes passionately in reaching out to others and making a difference in their
lives. It is through interacting with others that she feels she can make an impact
in the lives of others so as to help in the shaping of a better tomorrow for all.
