Kaveri is an experienced academic and researcher whose professional expertise includes sociology, psychology and early childhood education. She was actively involved in many professional and academic activities, conferences, and serving conference publications.

Some of her recent workshop and papers presented include:

  • 2009 - Observation as a method of data collection: Phases and challenges. A paper presented at The ECSE Research Seminar, Singapore on 11th September 2009.
  • 2009 - Young children’s thoughts on domestic waste generation in Singapore: An analysis of their drawings. A paper presented at the 3rd International Art(s) in Early Childhood Conference, Singapore.
  • 2009 - Environmental education and its challenges: A qualitative case study of early childhood educators in Singapore. A paper presented at the Service Learning Conference, Singapore.

Prior to her academic career, she was a preschool teacher and curriculum specialist at a privately-operated childcare centre. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Early Childhood Education and Special Needs with National Institute of Education in Singapore, focusing her research work on: teachers as arts researchers; researching with children; connecting qualitative methodologies with contexts, dilemmas and issues; advanced qualitative methodologies; advanced literature review and analysis
