About Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Leadership
The Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Leadership is designed to equip leaders of preschool centres with the skills necessary for running a high quality preschool programme. This programme will highlight the various administrative and managerial functions neccessary for an organized and effective preschool.
Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded the Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Leadership by Learning Capital College and Diploma of Higher Education in Pre-school Educaiton by the University of Wales.
Students can proceed to pursue a Degree in Early Childhood Education by the University of Wales.

Recent research in early years – findings and reports on child development, learning and implications for early childhood care and education
Current trends on working with children with various types of exceptional needs

Designing the Early Childhood Care and Education Curriculum (180 hours)
Designing a developmentally and culturally appropriate early childhood care and education programme
Monitoring, assessing and evaluating the early childhood care and education programme
Promoting bilingual-literacy in early childhood care and education programme
Planning and organising the physical environment and space
Integrating structured and unstructured play into the curriculum
Working with children with special needs: curriculum design, implementation and strategies
Guiding teachers in the planning and organizing of collaborative learning for young children
Using environmental resources and Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in early childhood care and education programmes
Guiding teachers in planning for integrative learning in Language and Literacy, Numeracy, Environmental Awareness, Aesthetics and Creative Expression, Self and Social Development (including Health Awareness), and Motor Skills Development
Evaluating learning using a variety of assessment techniques

Supervised Leadership Practice (200 hours)
Course Duration And Delivery
The course comprises of 7 modules conducted over 650 classroom hours and 200 practicum hours. Students will meet 2 to 3 sessions a week for a 2 to 3 hours session.
